Lets say a guy likes a girl - early to mid 20's - they've chatted a bit and are now talking about meeting up for coffee - perhaps to start "talking"

Say the guy made a new myspace account recently and found her profile - should he friend invite her? Since its a new account will that seem creepy, like he's spying? Is it just creepy in general? They haven't even exchanged numbers yet. If he does friend invite her, will she start thinking of him as more of a friend, instead of as a romantic interest? Lets not get into friends leading to lovers debate - for the sake of this poll - friends don't date friends - and he will be stuck just being her friend when he wants more.

Look stalker boy, are you trying to scare her into canceling plans with you?

Bad idea, a friend invite will make her think less romantically of you.

Why are you even using MYSPACE?

Sure, but don't talk about anything on her site when you see her

Absolutely, this gives validity to asking her questions about her myspace details

Depending on who she is, she could take it as flattering or clingy - but if you wait to see if she adds you, then you know more that she is interested.
She would also know more about you before the date, now it depends on whether she wanted to meet a mysterious guy, or a guy she wanted to feel like she already knew- like deja vu. Or get the wrong impression of you.
Personally, I'd wait to do it.

Question Asker Waiting or perhaps never doing it sounds like a better idea - it keeps the mystery going - gives her a reason to see me - if she asks me in person, then there ya go - seems a 3/4 of the woman I run into ask, do you myspace? - 9 months ago
Answerer I run into the same thing. A lot of people use that or facebook, so you don't have to look for her right away. And before like a first date, you don't want to add her and talk and talk and talk, then all of a sudden your on the date with nothing to say. Like spreading yourself too thin, then you don't got anything left. - 9 months ago

I think as long as you have a few other friends already, it's perfectly okay.

Add her, it's no big deal. You know her so it's cool, she'll be flattered actually.

You know what IS creepy? All the old/fat/greasy men who send friend requests to young girls they don't even know. EW! So annoying and pervy.

MySpace isn't too serious of a site to think she would consider you a stalker for adding you. I have invited people that I have only met once or twice or people I know through a friend, it's no big deal. I say invite her and then you can chat it up some more.

Ya you should totally add her! You could write her a message saying who you are and you thought you would try a myspace. If anything this girl will be flattered (if she is interested) and won't have any problem with it. Also adding someone as a friend on myspace doesn't send a "just friends" signal at all. Hope I helped
