This guy at the office is always at my desk talking about where he's going to eat lunch, and details about his dogs, family and all kinds of personal stuff . He and I have fun talking and laughing . He seems to want to talk to me all the time, and sneaks looks over at me a lot, which I obviously catch . I hint around about going to this "concert" for music we both like, and also happy hour, but he acts interested in that but then skirts the details about going or bails last minute . He seems timid about taking our "friendship" further . I can't tell and don't want to be desperate . DO GUYS LIKE TO JUST CHAT UP GIRLS TO MAKE FRIENDS OR DO THEY WANT A MEANS TO GET LAID ?
I've only known him 6 weeks . And am happy to take it slow, but don't want to waste my time if he only likes me as a friend . He's 37 and I'm 40 . Thanks

Some guys need a sign that it's mutual before making a move. If you are interested in him, but aren't giving him any feedback then he probably doesn't want to face the rejection.

Question Asker I'm very touchy with him . Always grabbing his arm or squeezing his shoulder, winking at him when he walks by, coyly suggesting I see his tattoo "for real" not in a photo . I also asked him to happy hour 3 times which for whatever reason he canceled literally last minute on all 3 days . I think that's pretty convincing without crossing the "harassment" line . Any other suggestions short of humping his leg ? - 9 months ago
Answerer Aha, so either he is gay. Or very oblivious. Or maybe a little un-confident? Maybe you should flat out ask him whether he wants to date or not. I know that breaks all of the dating rules, but maybe he got out of a bad relationship before you met him, or something else is holding him back. - 9 months ago
