I Burt my hand recently (Second degree burn) its healing fine...However I know that its going to be quite an ugly scar...So if someone had a bad scar on their exposed Skin like the hands or face is it a turn off at first?

When I was 5, I got bitten in the face by a dog. it tore my upper lip in two.
The surgeon did an amazing job patching it back together, so now I only have a half-inch scar that isn't really noticeable unless you get close.

So I HOPE that scars aren't a turnoff, because I've got one smack-dab in the middle of my face. I like it, actually. Like a little mystery, a story I can tell that makes me ME.

I'd agree with most of the people who already answered. Scars are really attractive. I don't know why, but it sorta gives off the signal that you can take care of yourself, at least to me.

Ah, ok. Then don't worry bout it. It's not too big. She'll most likely not mind =]. Good luck!

It depends on who you ask. My father has a lot of gross scars from surgeries, so it takes a lot for a scar to bother me. A burn on the hand wouldn't be a big deal at all. I actually kind of like scars, I always wonder what the story is behind them.

burns don't bother me as long as they're not all over the body and they're not on the face. hands are fine. one of my best friends has a huge burn all over her upper arm and part of chest from when she pulled boiling water onto her, from off a table when she was a toddler. I met her when I was 10 so at first I was like, "ewww", but I grew up and I became accustomed to the look of burns. ibarely notice it and she's not self-conscious about it either. so as long as you don't act ashamed of it, I don't think it'll bother people.

I don't dislike them and asking how you got them is usually a good icebreaker. And I def have scars on like my knees from falling and stuff so . . .

It honestly depends on who we're dealing with. Most girls thing scars and piercings are hot. Plus, the scar could become something to talk about. What part of your hand is it on?

I love scars. There's always a story behind them and I like to rub them whenever I'm feeling around on my boyfriend. I can see how they could be perceived as unattractive or even startling at first (especially on the face) but I like them.

lmao I see a lot of responses here saying that scars are a good icebreaker...what happens when the truthful answer to the question "where did you get those scars?" is "I fought I pack of vicious dogs bare-knuckled in a knee-deep swamp. and won"

Said scars are not actually that numerous, and confined to the arms, but you get the point
