I always wondered what the function of having a crush AKA infactuation is all about.
It always hurts, you never love the person and you wind up hating that person because they could never live up to the standards your fantasies built up.
I don't beleive having an infactuation builds you up inside, it is actually very damaging and self destructive. It really hurts, it is real pain!
Love yes, crush NO.
How do you get over it, you need time. Time is the healer but they are always going to be somewhere in the corner of your mind, even if they change, you will always have feelings for the image you built up in your imagination of that person.
You really need to just move on. A good way that I have found that works, start going to the gym and work out. You don't have to become a gym rat, but going will give you a new sense of pride and working out creates a chemical reaction in your body that makes you happy. Plus I am sure there would be some eye candy there for you. Good Luck
Yeah, I agree with all the other answers but most importantly, remember you are young. That's not meant to be an insult at all, I know exactly how you feel when I was your age. I spent my entire high school years hung up on one guy when I had many opportunities pass me by. Looking back, I wish I had someone remind me that there are many great guys out there just waiting to "apply" for my attention. This is YOUR time, enjoy every minute, you should be having multiple guys calling YOU, going on all kinds of dates; nothing serious, nothing sexual. HAVE FUN with your girlfriends and flirting with the boys. You'll have the rest of your life to get serious, confused, and frustrated with men! Ha ha ha! Trust me, I know. Good Luck! :-)
I agree with yellowduckie. You can get over your crush if you try. You just have to stop dwelling on him- so for a little while, avoid him. If you know he is going to be somewhere- don't go. Don't talk to him or stare at him or anything like that. Fill your time with more productive things, such as exercising, hanging out with girlfriends, doing HW, etc. You'll find someone else that will catch your eye pretty soon. You are still young- there are plenty of boys out there. :)
