This guy I've liked for a really long time has started acting really odd. All year, we have gotten along really well, and although we don't really hang out outside of school besides on AIM, I would consider him to be one of my best friends. But just a few days ago, he started acting really different, almost cold towards me. I would glance around the room, and he would be staring at me, and wouldn't look away. If I sat next to him in a class, and said hi, he would practically ignore me, instead of jumping into conversation as usual. After a while, he would warm up and by the end of class, things would be better than ever, but the next day, it's the same thing. We keep on having these weird eye contact moments during class, and I just try to smile, or roll my eyes at what the teacher is saying if he catches me looking, but if I don't do anything, he just looks with a blank stare, and I get self conscious, and look away. Do you have any idea what's going on? Or what could have happened to make him act so foreign? Do you think he found out I like him, or has suspicions? Could he be acting strange because he likes me? And what should I do about eye contact? Do I just have to stop looking, or how do I return it? Helpppp! Thanks in advance guys!
Staring at you for so long means he's either fearful or un-trusting for some reason. He seems to like you and wants to get a message across. (If he didn't like you he wouldn't look at you at all). He might have found out that you really like him - and unsure if your "friendship" is moving towards somewhere. What you could do is either 1. Ask him if he's okay, in a friendly way or 2. Put a laugh or joke while saying to him that his stares are really strange and funny and weirding you out. He'll get the message but not be too offended. I personally think he's getting nervous that there could be something of a spark between you two!
