How long would you wait to ask someone out?

If you known her a year, I say just go for it.

Well you know if you don't ask her soon that she'll lose hope in you and move on. In the other hand if you don't hang out with her try to. That will make her think more that you like her and that she should become closer with you. Ask her to hang with you and some buddies from school then gradually get more closer like movies then ice skating with each other then start hanging out a lot. If you guys really like each other then everything SHOULD fall into place pretty quickly.

If you wait too long, you will regret it. Honestly, the instant the chance pops up to ask her, even if not necessarily ideal (there may be someone else around, the odds that you get her COMPLETELY alone are slim, but secluded works) You need to ask her out.

There is a hope for you, she may think you are nice and know of you at least, and her friends aren't going to be there when you ask her out. Honestly, what you need to do is man up and just do it. If the opportunity is even not ideal, and you are ready to ask her, screw the situation, she may be impressed with how bold you are. If you never try to get her, you never will. If she means as much to you as it seems, she is worth the temporary embarrassment.

There will never be a "perfect" opportunity, but anytime she is alone, (key SHE is alone, not always that you two are the only two people in the room), just rile yourself up and ask her out. You may be surprised at the results. Many girls are relatively open to starting a new relationship.
