If he is already looking at you, then he already likes what he sees. Guys are very direct.
I would suggest that while you are in class, go up to him and see what he is sewing or something - maybe make fun of it. Ask him if he wants to get lunch later, or slip him your number.
Basically, I would just say put yourself out there and let him know.
You can try by starting a conversation with him. But I advice you not to make the first move then he'd think you're too easy and wen he figures that you like him he'll act not interested. That happened to me it was embarrassing! But that's just my theory, maybe it'll work out better for you. Good luck :D
