I just broke up with my boyfriend of almost two years. I'm 17 years old and I think I want to be with his best friend. But his best friend has a girlfriend and he is been dating her for 15 months. He says that he does have feelings for me but he loves her. I told him I would never do anything to break them up. We're still in high school and people change so he could break up with her or he might not. I really don't like anyone right now is it OK to wait for him and if he breaks up with her he could be my boyfriend?
Most of the time if it didn't work out with your ex, chances are high it's not going to workout with his best friend. Not only that do you really want to date a guy who says he loves you but at the same time have feelings for another girl? Do yourself a big favor and don't wait for that guy. Waiting for someone to break up is just going to eat away at you. Just be friends with the guy and don't worry about dating him. If you feel like you can't hang out with him and what not without having feelings or whatever for him then maybe you should avoid him. That and that looks like a situation where he eventually fools around with you or has sex with you and stays with her and then your the other girl. Then he always tells you how he loves you etc etc but never commits to anything. If it were me I wouldn't even keep him a thought in my mind as to being more than friends. There's plenty of fish in the sea and you don't have to settle for the anchovies when you can get yourself a nice salmon.
I don't know if its such a good idea to wait for him... because if you and your ex boyfriend are still friends, you could end up hurting him a lot if you dated his best friend. But if your not, then I would try it with him. Just don't wait too long, because I've tried that, and it does not work lol. Hope this helped!
Ya It helped a lot and I have talked to my ex and were ok friends and I told him there could always be that chance that me and his friend could end up together and he says he is ok with it . Obviously it would hurt a little at first. His friend just treats me so nicely and he makes me feel like I matter because with my ex after the first time we had sex that's all he wanted from me and then I just got so mad.
