You have got to connect with him on that certain level. Y'all need to almost finish each others thoughts. I got a girl I think about all day everyday. We aren't dating right now because of place and time issues, but while I wait for that moment, we are always thinking of one another. I don't even feel the need to try for other girls. The way this happened was through a series of inside jokes, songs that remind us of the other, and that shear connection both mental and physical. If you have enough in common and enough reminders throughout your day it is hard to not think about them. And if you ever feel like it has been a while and worried about him, just send a simple thinking of you texts. She always loves those, maybe he will too.
