Is it bad for a guy to give the girl his number?

Just wait it out. I've asked for numbers of random guys before and I don't see anything wrong with it.

If she's never even talked to you before, she's probably not going to call you. But I guess you could wait a little. I wouldn't bring it up with her or anything, though :(

She might call you but probably not.

I don't think she is going to call you and talk heart to heart with her but she may call you as a prank and then you could probably get a few words in and then start off a conversation. That's the best way to do it if she does call you as a prank. I'm not sure if she is pulling your chain but it sounds like it's possible.

As you said its really random, its hard to tell you a true answer, need to give time and see what happens after a week or so if you really want to get to know her then you can try call her and see hows it go from there. If a girl ask a guy number its not weird or bad for guy to give the girl number, since she's the one asked for it, but if you just randomly give the girls number without her asking then that's a bit odd usually the guy ask the girl's number and see weather or not she gives or not.

That is why you always get her number too, she asked you for you number which is a good thing but since you didn't ask for hers back, then its her ball game now, she now can decide if she wants to call you and there's nothing you can do about it but wait it out, hopefully she will call you

It is never a bad idea to give a girl your number if you are attracted to her. Take it as a compliment that she wants your number. Quit looking at it as a joke and take it as a confidence builder. What is the worse that could happen? She doesn't call and you are back to doing the same thing you were doing before she walked into your life. Just stay calm and eventually she will act on the number. I don't know what kind of work you do but there is also the chance she comes back into the store. Again play it cool and don't even mention why she hasn't called. You make the first move and ask her out. If she says yes then ask for her number or just say you got my number, call and we'll work out the details.

Sounds like you're just going to have to wait and find out. There's really no other way to tell. I mean, unless her and her friend were stifling laughter the entire time.
