Well, I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
When you say "talking to the guy I liked later about it" What is "it"

If you are referring to the situation with you lying on him, then the signs are good. He didn't think that was weird at all, and probably enjoyed it.

If you are referring to the father coming down, then there really is nothing I can tell you, other than the fact you are probably reading too much into the situation.

This aside, he may be sending "signs" but it will really depend on the time you spend close with him. The way you have said it with you two lying together sounds good, as many guys if not interested, would not allow this to happen. If his hand was on your arm, then it is also good-not quite as overt as holding hands, but contact is good.
He may be showing signs, but if you want this to go anywhere, you will have to really start flirting back, and give him a chance to ask you out. Of course, you could always ask him out yourself.
