For girls and guys, what exactly is flirting?

To me there are two types of flirting. There is the friendly flirt, which most people do to the opposite sex without even knowing it. That's when your voice changes to be a little sweeter sounding and you joke around with that person. Maybe even a little horse play. Then there is the romantic flirting, which is the eye contact, the constant smiling, the touching of the arms and legs, mainly when your focus is completely on the other person. Now the problem is as you can tell, there is not a whole lot of space from one leading into the other. Which is why others may call you a flirt, when you merely doing it on a friendly level. My ex was a flirty person with everyone. This got us into some arguments, until I understood that a lot of what she was doing was on a friendly. It was when she turned it into a way to make me jealous, that she became my ex. I think it is cool to be social and flirt but be smart about your surrounds and your actions.

I don't think there is a specific definition of flirting because flirting is different for everyone but I do know if I be nice to a guy apparently I'm flirting with them which is just stupid to be honest people should be able to be nice to the opposite sex without someone going oh your such a flirt! But when I do flirt its usually really obvious but it just comes natural its not like I can go ok I'm going to flirt with him as it wouldn't be flirting then. But for an example some of the things I noticed I do when I flirt is like touch the guys arm eye contact and I'm always giggling and smiling and I can be a lick arse at times lol.!
