I'm friends w/a guy I'm crushing on. It seemed he really liked me. we texted everyday, talked everyday.i would often catch him looking at me. Everyone thought we were going to date. We went to prom together & it was unforgettable - the night of our lives! Seriously.
One month later, we're still doing the same thing, but NOTHING has happened! No progress.
When I mention us doing something together, he shuts down.big sign he's not into me. right? BUT, he still acts like he's into me in all the other ways. The problem is one day he is "ON" & the next day he is "OFF." It's like a yo-yo. I get mixed signals every day/week.
I can't talk to him about it, because he doesn't know I'm crushing on him & I don't want to ruin the friendship part of our relationship.
Does he like me? What do I do? Now that school is out, I won't see him very often during the summer, if any. Do I give up on us dating? Or just keep being his friend?
p.s. So I finally come to the conclusion that we are just friends.nothing will ever happen. Last night I go to a dance club and he also happens to be there. We dance but he basically blows me off. When I get home, I have a text from him: "Hey, didn't expect to see you there tonight." What the *(&*@)($% does that mean?
Update: i just found out today he's known the WHOLE time I was crushing on him. wow. which means he asked me to prom knowing full well I liked him. I guess if he was bothered by my crush he wouldn't have made the effort to ask me, right? am I just being stupid?

That is unfortunate. It seems as though this guy didn't really know what he wanted. Its possible he just liked you as a friend and when he thought things might actually turn into other things, he shyed away cause he wasn't ready. Maybe he isn't ready to commit to anything. Maybe has a lot on his plate right now and doesn't want to drag you down with him so he keeps you at a distance. Its really hard to play the guessing game about if someone likes you or not. If you know the guy enough, like you do, why not just ask him truthfully what he thinks so you can give your heart a rest or just find the truth. I know its always the hardest thing to do, but its the only for sure way, unless he lies. But if you catch him in that, you know he wasn't worth it anyways. =\ sorry.
