Would a woman lie about men flirting with them at the office to get more attention from a friend?

I have a friend that had this "story": where she told me that her boss won't let her talk to other men in the office; with saying that she also mention something happen several weeks ago that cause her boss to be bitter. So Friday I talk to her about it and she was or seemed very frustrated about it didn't want to go into detail. So then I decided not to bug her about it and just take her side no matter what it is. So for the last couple of days I have yet heard what the story is, which was frustrating. So I decided to say ish to her, really flirty stuff and she is responding to it. What is that about? Would a woman make up story to like this one just to give a guy more confidence when it comes to talking to her about flirty things?
Update: i ask her today if it was still a secret. she says Yes, I have decided that I am not talking about it anymore. I don't want to draw any negative attention toward myself while I am trying to get promotion.even if it is not her fault. so now I curious!    3 months ago

Yes. Most girls think that the more guys that flirt with them the prettier, etc. they are. Maybe this girl wanted to make herself look like more of a prize.
