I wanted to hang out with my best friend for the nite and I wanted to hang out with my guy friend all on the same day. But, my best friend came over first so she got first dibs for my time that night. My guy friend called and I told him that my best friend was at my house and that we were going to hang out. He hung up! Wow!
So, later we talked he said that I should have told her that " I'm going to hang out with my man tonite." So does this mean we are officially an item now or he was just talking smack?
Update: Ok.let me clarify the hang up. It was the classic case of we both said ok at the end of the phone call. So, I guess he thought after I said ok we were done talking. But, I wasn't. I had one more thing to say but he had hung up already. Trust me

OK I see you your update clarifies it. It doesn't really mean you are an item now. And it's hard to say.
My best friend hears that a lot from me and I call her love, sweetheart all the time and she refers to me as sweetie. The difference is we both know how things are between us.
You are an item when he makes the move on you and you have some intimacy together even just a simple kiss where both persons know what it means.
Ok. I understand that really I do cause I have a habit of calling my male friends sweetheart and babe. But, I'm the type of person that says exactly what I'm feeling. After telling him that he called me a runner. He the took my hands softly and looked at me in my eyes and told me that I couldn't run from him. He's seems to be real but a bit to good to be true. That kinda of comment could mean he's thinking there is more going on here than just friendship, sure. But like everybody else said, do you really want a guy who is gonna hang up on you for spending time with a girl friend and not him? I could see MAYBE if it was another guy and he got jealous, but just a girl friend? That's crazy. Plus from the way you are describing it, it's not like you had any set plans with this guy. If you had made specific plans and then you ditched him because she happened to show up first, then that's kinda jacked and I would see why he got so mad. Any chance he misunderstood? Like maybe he thought that you were FOR SURE going to hang out and you just though MAYBE you would hang out? Then he'd have a right to be a little mad if he thought you were blowing him off. Even if he just considers you guys to be friends and not anything more. Hanging up on you though? I still think that's kinda extreme.

I don't think so. If you too were officially an item he shouldn't have hung up on you. You had already made plans to hang out with your friend. I understand you want to juggle hanging out with your friend and you guy friend at the same time. It is hard. You don't want to lose your friend by hanging out with him too much and same way around.
