As a guy. my thought is just ask him what his number is. Too much is lost to worrying about feeling too forward. (I have a little experience on both sides of this.) It's not a big deal to get someone's number in most situations. If you're interested but don't know if you want to commit to expressing an interest in him ask him for his number and give him yours and tell him to give you a call some time this summer to catch up. There's not much too lost.
