It really depends on the situation, for women it usually is way much easier, just be the hot babe. :)
but I can tell you what would attract my attention:
1) See you with a group of people. 2) You have other people giving you attention. 3) You seem to be the one having the most fun 4) If I pass you and I look at you, you look back and perhaps smile if it is that obvious that I am looking at you.
and the list could go on but I think for you to come up with the right answer, next time you are out on a night out with your girls in a club or party or whatnot, take a look around , observe what the others are doing, and you will see what kinda guy seems to
