There's this girl that I like who I have thought has liked me too for a long time. Recently I told her that I wanted to spend more time with her and that we have not been spending as much time together as I would like. (We have only gotten together for 2 and 1/2 hours in 3 years!) When I told her this, she seemed very sympathetic and said, "I understand how you feel. I felt like that about someone." When she said this, I was kind of hurt because I always thought that if you really liked someone, you would want to spend time with them. How can someone like you but not want to spend time with you? She also said, "I just don't have time right now." She sounded very sorry about it and very sincere, but it still sucks that we haven't spent time together! What do you people think about this situation? If she really likes me, wouldn't she make time to spend with me?
I think she says it because she doesn't want you to feel bad. It sounds like she's been hurt and is not over it. I know it hurts but its prob time 2 move on.

If she really liked you, and was not hurt by her past relationships, or attempts at relationships, she would want to invest time in you. However, if your wording is accurate, it is possible she would like to be spending time with someone else who is treating her the same way she is treating you. You might want to simply make some plans to do something you enjoy and invite her to go with you. If she doesn't, you can enjoy yourself anyway. If she does, you have time to invest in each other.
Another option is to print out a coupon, and give it to her, entitling the bearer to dinner plus (movie, mini golf, etc.) with you. If she doesn't take you up on it immediately, don't worry. God may use it later, when she is better able to enjoy you, or to surprise you somehow. God is pretty cool that way.
