if a guy smiles whenever he's around you and will chill with you instead of hanging with his mates then that is a key sign he likes you

constant staring, smiling and maybe some verbal language straight to your face its awfully hard to find out but I would say number 1 reason if you offered to hug him and he would say yes then he probably has some compassion for you!

there are quite a few: staring, treats you differently than other girls, finds a way to be around you even if you don't interact, tries to impress you, tries to make you laugh, tries to get your attention, playfully tease you, may be more shy around you compared to others, acts nicer when you're around, looks at you a lot when you're smiling/laughing/having fun, if he tries to keep you in view for as long as possible or tends to look around and stop when he finds you, and more. I think it really depends on the guy because not all guys show the way they like you the same.
