I'm a cashier, and I get so many cheesy pickup lines from guys, I never know what to say or if they're actually hitting on me. Do guys actually think they'll get laid by using those lines? And what should I say to them? Just laugh? Or say something equally cheesy.
Thinking of something original involves time and risk, especially for a cashier who's heard it all already AND doesn't have time to talk. That said, however, I never use them. If I'm going to try to pick up a cashier, I'm going to go during her slow hours, try to become familiar, and read the vibes. What to say? Whatever you want, but you want to be nice to the cute ones, so that they come back.
I'm a cashier too. the funny thing is I always get GIRLS saying cheesy stuff to me. haha I'm serious. the other day I had a girl give me her number then a week later I had another girl tell me she wants to get into my pants and she'll treat me good and all kinds of stuff. then flashed me when she was leaving. ( it was late and no one else was around) haha I didn't know how to react so I smiled and waved rofl I can't flirt back because I'm shy, but I do enjoy all the attention and stuff. I usually just smile cause I don't know what to say haha I would say something cheesy back if you're interested otherwise just smile and look away.
what girls don't realize is guys use the pickup line as much as an ice breaker as they do to pick up the girl. Girls seem to only see the pick up part of this and see it as trying to get into a girls pants. But the other eliment of this is the ice breaker. And its an ignoligment of how hard it is to start a conversation with someone you don't know. Did you ever say hey how's oit going today? Or how are you? But you didn't realy want to heart the whole answer on how this person is feeling misrable and grumpy or how someone cut them off or whatever. So then why say how you doing if you only want to hear the responce fine. You do it as a way of breaking the ice. And then maybe you can get to the real conversation of what you did for fun and not how are you. When a guy says hey cutie how I don't mind if you bag my goods. What you hear is I want to get laid. What he is actualy saying is I realy want to talk to you but I have no idea what to say.
"Hey, baby. You must be Windows 95 because you've got me so unstable."
There's a difference between when they think it's going to work and when they're trying to be cheesy.
I told a girl that she "reminded me of my first wife."
"How many times have you been married?"
"I haven't. yet. (overdramatic wink)"
Actually we had been talking about how another friend always takes flirting to an inappropriate level, and sometimes comes across as weird. So I was laughing about it, and I brought that one up. So we started using lines on each other. Strictly platonic, but it was great to laugh at these.
It might deserve a laugh, but if you're not interested, then you just go with a polite no when they ask you out. It's like most situations. You just act aloof, but treat them with kindness until they're rude to you, then you say no. That is, if they're showing interest outside of the cheesy lines. If it's so cheesy you have to laugh, then go ahead and laugh. That shouldn't be a sign of interest, although if these guys are so clueless to use cheesy lines (when they're not trying to be funny), then you might not want to laugh too much or they might think you're interested.
If you ARE interested, you can still flirt, and kind of accept the cheesy pickup line. But then you let him know that it wasn't something you were attracted to, and then drop the subject.
I've never done pickup lines myself, unless I'm poking fun at cheesy guys. But the odd thing is that plenty of girls love that and think it's great, so unfortunately, it's gotten great publicity in some circles, so some boys think it's ok. If it got rudeness every time, I think guys would pretty much learn NOT to do that. Somewhere it must be working.
And the guy with the cheesy awkward pickup lines? He's had at least 8 girlfriends.
95 wasn't that bad. Only the installation process was. 86% has been a dreadful number that I've come to remember, since it kept freezing at that point. - 2 months ago
Yeah, I'd say the reason I use pick up lines isn't for the pickup factor, but rather the ice-breaker/humor side of it.
Think about it- women like men that make them laugh. Would you want to be around a man that has the personallity of a gnat? - 2 months ago

Well, ok, so what if I can't stay put more than 2 seconds, have a habit of roaming around the room in random crazy circles and I am attracted to light? What of it? You want to make something of it, Nony?? ;)
I think there are plenty of ways to make a girl laugh (my appearance, for one) that aren't quite pickup lines. I suppose technically anything flirty that's used for humor could be considered a pickup line. I just generally don't use it for the purpose of picking up women... - 2 months ago
Cheesy pick up lines are the coolest. I would rather a guy use a line he knows is cheesy than one that is meant to be serious. Like Blue Kev said it is to break the ice and humor is always a good way to do it.
I have a friend who just makes girls like him. He's goofy, quirkily attractive, and makes you feel comfortable and deliciously awkward at the same time. He'll grab your hand and race through a mall...
I have read on here SO many times, "How can I get him to like me?" "Why can't I get a date?" "What do I have to do?" Here's what it's all about. 1) Stop looking for love just to have it. Love is...
