I think you should stop listening to her friends. I think she likes you because I would not tell any guys my secrets. For you me to tell my secrets to a guy, he have to be someone I really like and trusted. She acts like friend too but if she stares at you a lot mean she likes you more than friend. Just tell her your feeling if you like her. Don't listen to her friends because many girls doesn't tell their best friends about everything. She might tell her friend that she doesn't want to date you because her friends might be teasing her about it.

If I were you I would continue like always in talking with the girl you like, and let her even meet your mom! Even if it is true that she doesn't want to date you.at least keep creating a cool friendship with her and her mind could suddenly change someday. Keep your options open (like talking to other chicks as well) but build a friendship with her for sure. Then let things unfold naturally and it might be to your advantage! Well I think maybe the girl's friend could be wrong, from everything you've said about the girl you like. But then again maybe this girl you like feels that your someone she can confide in and be very close to, but she doesn't feel that about you in a sexual type way.

I think you should directly ask the girl you like because otherwise you'll never know if her friend is lying, misinformed or jealous.

I wouldn't trust her friend, she could have her own motives for telling you that. I would ask this girl out (maybe ask her if she wants to hang out and see a movie or something), you'll know for sure then.
