Ok in a situation like this one. try to be more comforting than anything. right now he's dealing with all of his emotions and possibly he's not ready. maybe you have a connection because he's hurting and your there for him. try to be a friend before you try to be his lover or anything serious. I'm sure you are soulmates but you want to make sure that he is ready to start a new realationship. he just got out of one. good luck
Well, I wouldn't bring up the idea of prom yet, because for most (and I may be wrong) school's that isn't until the end of the year. I would definitely ask him out of a date. Something fun that you both enjoy, movies and dinner are good sometimes, but there's less pressure on other things. Example: you could go skating at a local pond.
