So I think the guy that works at the gas station I go to is cute. He is always nice to me and makes small talk when I come in but that could be just because it is his job. So I stopped in the other night and the cashier (not the cute one but another one) starts flirting with me and gives me his phone number (that always seems to happen to me. I always end up getting the number of the one I am not interested in. Maybe because I am more casual around the ones I am not interested in and too nervous around the one's I am interested in. This could lead the one I want to think I am not interested in and the one I don't want to think I am. Man how complicated is that?!?!?)
Any how, as soon as I left I texted the guy that gave me his number and told him that I actually have a little crush on the other guy but I was just too embarrassed to give him my number. He texts me back and asks if I want him to give him my number. I said sure. I haven't heard from him yet but it has only been two days and they were Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so I am not too worried. I stopped in on Christmas Eve and got a soda. He was at the register and smiled really big at me and then made a lot of small talk about Christmas and such. I don't know if the other guy really gave him my number or not. I think it might be wrong to call the guy and ask if he did. After all he really didn't have too. Man I am so confused. I really don't know what too do.
"Hey, I think you're cute... here's my number, we should hang out sometime." He'll politely take the number and call if he's interested. End of problem. - More than a year ago

Ask for his number or in playful way tell him to call you.
Ask him for his number. I find this easier then giving somebody your number. I know this is still probably hard. but what do you have to lose? If you ask his number I highly doubt he'd say no. That's kinda rude. And plus if he gives you the wrong number, says no, becomes awkward, or it just doesn't work out...go to another gas station. I'm sure there are probably a lot in your area. Anyways he seems like a nice guy. So I'm sure that won't be a problem. Just do it. There really isn't anything you can lose.
Well, if you aren't sure and want the guy to call, as you are talking with the guy you like casually ask if he wants to continue the conversation later and leave him your number...or something like that. This way you're sure he's has your number.
