I can only answer from my perspective as a shy guy. What nobodygirl said is true. The way he treats you, the way he smiles at you differently, the way he breaks eye contact whenever you look in his direction, on some guys, the way that he blushes or flinches slightly if you just brush gently against him (innocently) are all ways to see how he feels. The best way, though, is to see their reaction when you ask who they like. Don't tease the poor bloke, but that should be a dead giveaway. If you like the guy and want a relationship, then give him the hints and it should be okay from there. If you don't, let him down nicely. It's terrifying for a shy guy to have his feelings exposed, so don't scar him for life. Shy guys are often more sensitive to you than others, so that can be a major bonus to a relationship with him. Enjoy!
