This guy and I have been friends for about a year. There are times where he flirts with me, ( or at least it looks like it) and we
have these times where he looks at me in this way like in movies where they are going to kiss, accept he just STARES. I was thinking maybe I should ask him out for Valentines Day, but then I thought would he ask ME OUT? If he says yes great I have a boyfriend, but if he says NO then it will ruin my relationship I already have with him because we are friends then we will have awkward moments. WHAT DO I DO?

Since you're not really sure what he really feels about you. Maybe asked him what he's doing tonight. And if he said he's got no plans, tell him you don' t have plans either and if maybe he wanna hang out with you cause you could use some company. You know. Valentine's day is not only for couples anyway. So maybe if he accepts then you go from there. It will only be just the two of you. So you would see what he really is all about. Now, if the "date" turns out to be like just a friendly one. Then I guess you got your answer there. I hope this helps. Good luck girl ;)

I'd suggest you to hold off. If he's into you, he would've tried to steal you away from other contenders a lot earlier. Judging from your account of his movie-like stares, I doubt he's shy, so rule that out as well. No harm in keeping a flirty friend to entertain your days.
