I really like this kid. I've liked him for 2yrs. He is really shy and kinda nerdy. He is also really nice. That's my dilemma. I don't know if he is just being nice or if he really is showing that he likes me.

Well, the past few days I have been really flirting more then I usually do cause well I'm done with sitting and watching. Also, My. "friend" who is mean as hell and has told lies about me, has been flirting with him. She is now going after everything I've told her in my life. Who I like and what I like (like sports) She is trying to become a mini me. My heart keeps killing me every time I see her flirting with him. Him and her are pretty good friends of their family's too. But I really want to know what I can do to win him back. I've been emailing him a lot and I just can stand her trying to steal him. It hurts way to much. Help.

I can totally understand the hurt and anger that you have in the situation. But what you need to do is to sit back, take a deep breath, and clear your head. Now read this very carefully.

First off, your "friend" isn't really a friend at all. All she cares about is herself. She is willing to hurt you or anyone else to get what she wants, and that is NOT what a real friend is. So you need to stop talking to her, stop hanging out with her, and just basically ignore her existence. If she wants to talk crap about you, then that's fine. Just shows what kind of person she is. Find some new friends to hang out with.

Second, I understand how much your heart hurts, but let him go. If he likes you, you will know it. But if you push and pester and bug him with just a bombardment of emails, texts, IM's or whatever, then you will just push him away. If you have a person, whether it be a guy or girl, who seems like they are clingy, needy, and just tries way too hard to hang out with you, then it actually does the opposite. No one wants to hang out with or be friends with a needy or clingy person. I'm not saying don't contact him, but don't go to the point where you appear needy.

As far as trying to win him back, just stop right there. You are a GIRL. Girls aren't supposed to win guys. A REAL MAN is supposed to try and win the girl. When you try and win the guy, you're basically saying that you're below him, and that you have to somehow show that you're worthy, which is wrong. But be his friend, and if he likes you, things will happen. But if they don't, then don't worry about it. You are young and there will be PLENTY of guys!

Well you don't own him so ultimately you can't make him do anything he doesn't want to do. Your so called friend is being shady and I hope you've distanced yourself from her. At any rate if you really want to date this guy you need to ask him out yourself. I don't know how old you are and what you're allowed to do, but you should invite him over to your place to watch a movie, join your family for dinner or make plans to go to the movies- just get him away from school so you can wow him with your awesomeness and not have to worry about competition. You have no control over what he ultimately decides to do, but you can be the bigger person, continue being kind and sweet and hope he values those sort of traits. Also when spending time with him don't put your "friend" down. Guys don't like drama so if he feels you girls are having a competition he may end up avoiding both of you. Just be yourself and if that isn't enough to win him over then he was never worth your time to begin with! Good luck!
