Ok first off I love your profile picture with Calvin and Hobbes they are my all time favorite comic. :) Secondly Rock is my favorite because it tends to be the most adrenaline pumping. Plus it usually takes the most skill to perform live.

Well I like anything that I can play loud and that makes me want to dance.
I love those songs where you can't help yourself but sing along to. Sometimes when I am in public listenig to my ipod I have to fight the urge not to bust out singing or dancing. The kind of songs that I blast in my car and sing as loud as I want to, basically the oens that make me feel really good.

What about Metal? FYI metal isn't only guys screaming like they're possessed. Some amazing bands play Metal Evanescence for example. You should try Within temptation If you like Evanescence.
