There are several books that I love, but I think there is actually one book that stands out as being my MOST favorite. What is is the title of YOUR most favorite book, and what about it is makes it your favorite? Is it its unique story-line? -- its profound moral? -- its interesting characters? -- it's colorful pictures and big type. Etc?
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer It has the most perfect guy character that every girl loves to have it has the most beautiful story about love Even though its about vampires as you read the book it talks less and less about vampires its mostly about love and what love can do best book ever!
Well I am a huge Stephen King fan but I would have to say that my favorite book of his was " Rose madder"...I don't know why. Maybe it's the empowerment the woman faces towards the end but it's a book I got really into and kind of upset when I finished it.
I absolutely LOVE Dave Pelzers books! Although they are sad, his books are beyond amazing. They will make you cry, smile, and even touch your heart all at the same time. So, All his books are my favorite.
This is a really hard question I can't choose - I love Sherrilyn Kenyon - dark-hunter novels (she is such a good writer, wow if anybody has a knack for writing about vampires and Greek mythology - its her) and I especially love books that teach you something but then again all books have a tendency to do that - I can't really choose one but I'm going to name a few that are really really good - The History of Love by Nicole Krauss - this book it's so good, its hilarious and at the same time so sad but that is what makes it great. The ten Journeys of Life by Michael Gold now this book will definitely show you the truth and show you the reality of what it means to truly be a better person - to understand life and cherish it more than ever but then again we all have our own beliefs. The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant - if your a person of art and Italy (at least I think that's where it took place in) then this book is definitely for you but then again if your a guy - I don't think you'll like cause it has romance in it but it all depends on the person and last but not least the greatest writer that was born - no not Shakespeare although his plays and sonnets are very interesting if you interpret the meaning behind the play or a sonnet - his name is Kahlil Gibran and he's written one of the most famous masterpieces which is called The Prophet although I think his other book The Eye of the Prophet is his best one but anyway sorry I just couldn't choose I'm a sucker for books although I never was one I just I don't know was inspired or something by The Eye of the Prophet that it just made me wanna read and now I love to read anything like drama, mystery, adventure, action, sci - fi - sorry but I just love to read!
This is the craziest answer I have posted yet. My favorite book of all time is "Green eggs and ham" by Dr. Suess. Love it. I know, I am older now but it brings back so many memories. My beautiful daughter loves it just as much!
My favorite book of all time is A Child Called It-By Dave Pelzer. Its a really great story of how a little boy survived his mothers beatings, its not good that she did that but he describes how he took her abuse and foul language she used. This book is non-fiction so, the that's what really happened to the author himself. There's a continuation to it called The Lost Boy (good as well) you should look into it.There's more to it than meets the eye if you know what I mean. Once you read it you won't be able to put it down. Makes you want to know more about it.
Oh man, you want me to pick just one? Wow. Tough one.
Well, on average, I read more sci-fi/fantasy than anything else (everything from old school Wells and Verne to Tolkien to Harry Potter to modern epic series to tie-in novels for Star Wars, Doctor Who, etc. ), but I think I enjoy Shakespeare's plays the most. Of which King Lear is definitely my favorite of those I've read so far. After I read it for the first time, I felt as though I could read it every week for the rest of my life and get something different out of it every time. It's so deep; it's got so many different facets of meaning. The first time I finished it, I just had to sit there for a while and let the whole thing sink in. It was a wonderful feeling!
So I would put OTHER in response to your poll, and that other would be the classics. Anything that's stood the test of time as a fantastic read. Because even though I might not read those as much as modern books, I enjoy them more, and my love for the classics spans all genres.
Anything by Jim Butcher. I can't just pick any -one- book. The Dresden Files series and the Codex Alera series. I have them all and recommend them to anyone who loves Sci-fi and mystery.
The Playboy Magazine. Naturally only for the articles and in depth reporting.
Machiavelli, The Prince; Sun Tzu, Art of War, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Crime and Punishment, Dante's Inferno. Come to think of it, I would not even be able to limit it to a dozen as every book has the ability to impart a profound tidbit onto your life.
