Is anyone else tired about Barack Obama's race being criticized and demeaned in this political campaign? I'm African American and it seems like every week there is a new "topic" to remind everyone that he is still half black.

what are these new topics? the only one I've noticed pointing out he's black is barack himself. today for example he said that the republicans are going to make americans scared of him because he's black. What is really pissing me off is how big a part race is playing in the election when it shouldn't be a factor at all, hell it's even more important than a person's beliefs now. I'm not gonna vote for someone because they're my race, I'm gonna do it because I agree with their stance on issues that matter. Sadly most americans aren't going to do that come election time

I don't give two squirts about politics in general. This is one of the many reasons why. Most of the figures we have running for office squabble among themselves, and have deeply rooted "isms" in their background that get in the way of what should be their very simple job of taking care of America's needs. Most of the people that run for office just do it for the glory and prestige, or to get their secret agendas taken care of. It's been a long time since anyone who really cared ran for office, or if they did, all of the other corrupt politicians band together to oust them.

Whoever does end up winning this next election, hopefully they are able to do the job, and do it well, without any more prejudices flying around.

*end rant*

I think it's pretty lame that the media has to make such a big deal out of his race. They're doing the same thing over Clinton's gender too. On the flip side, both candidates keep bringing up both of those things in their campaigns too, which makes it hard to get away from. =-/ I wish we could just judge people based on their stances instead of stuff like that.

Of course. I am AA also and you haven't seen nothing yet. If he makes it to the general election they are going do a number on him that will make you question him. Racism is deeply rooted in this country and believe me they are holding back. If he wins they will try their best to kill him.

Question Asker I have to agree with you on that. It's pathetic isn't it that his race is their headline every day? Thanks! :) - 9 months ago
