Ok I had my own horse for 3years and went horse riding for 5years! But I haven't done it in 5years because I had school and other stuff to put my focus on and I want to go back but I'm afraid ill be no good at it no more! Can anyone tell me if I will be ok because I loved it and was very good at it I don't care about falling off and hurting myself I never have I'm just worried I won't be as good as I used to be!

Question Asker I know people get hurt but that's half the fun falling off once its nothing like breaking your back! - 7 months ago
Answerer Yeah I like driving cars really fast sometimes even recklessly, just remember to wear proper equipment, and follow all guidelines like I said it should be like instinct - 7 months ago
Question Asker Yeah we have hats and back protectors and your not aloud enter a competition if you don't wear a back protector but you always have to wear a hat even if just in a lesson don't know why people wouldn't wear one any way - 7 months ago
Answerer The only helmet I ever wear is those old WW II German helmets with the spike on top, don't want to mess up my beautiful locks - 7 months ago

It's like riding a bike, once you get back on the horse you will start to remember. I read something about it being "muscle memory", your muscles remember what to do. Your mind just has to get back with the process. Just have fun and be safe:) Although, I will admit I don't wear a helmet. I have one and all, it just sits in my tack locker though, lol. I have my own horse, only fallen off once at the gallop (without a helmet) and it was a complete accident. I forgot I put ShowSheen(a coat gloss on him) before riding XD

Question Asker Ah fallen off is no biggie it happens all the time and can be quiet fun I had my own horse but I sold her due to school comiments - 3 months ago
Answerer Oh, what kind of comments were you getting? I've heard pretty much every one in the book, I actually switched to online home schooling instead of dealing with them :) - 3 months ago

I think you will be fine. I used to ride, but I quit when I moved away. But if you gave me a horse to tack and ride I would know exactly what to do. I think, when you get on the horse, it will all come back to you, like second nature.

Question Asker Yeah I still know how to tack a horse! And in my head I know exactly what to do when on one I'm just not sure it be the same in reality - 7 months ago
Answerer As long as you can remember it then I'm sure you will be fine when you get on. You shouldnt worry about it because I find that if I worry too much before I get on a horse I end up riding worse than I would have done if I was relaxed. - 7 months ago

Who cares if you go back and totally suck at it! If you enjoy doing it do it and eventually you will become as good as you use to be.

Question Asker I care because its not fun if your not able to do everything like I love cross country jumping and you have to be good to enter completions and all for it but if I'm shit I won't enjoy myself because I won't be doing the things I used to - 7 months ago
Answerer True, but you won't know if your shit or not until you at least try. If you are shit and you want to quit then do so. If you turn out to be right where you left off, well there ya' go. - 7 months ago
Question Asker Thats true!! just afraid though because I grew up in the equestrian world and its very bitchy like any competitive place its like if you do bad they say mean hurtful things - 7 months ago
Answerer Yeah I know. But if you love it like I do, and you obviously do too, it's worth it to enjoy the competition. Then again the bitchy part happens in any sport. if you could deal with it then why not now? - 7 months ago
Question Asker Different person now I was just as bitchy as them back then !! not everyone is bitchy obviously but the majority are - 7 months ago
Answerer As you said not all of them are. Go back but this time surround yourself with the good people. If any of the bitchy ones give you shit, make them kiss your ass on the course! :) Different people do different things so. Be your new self doing an old favorite past time. - 7 months ago
