Pass by a neighborhood with lots of scary and big dogs walking lol that would work your legs so much you won't believe your own speed lol well walking and running are really good exercises or just go to the gym and ask the instructor he will be more than happy to help you in any way you want and he would help you do things right to get maximum results
Walk around on the tips of your toes and do squats while only on your toes, those are really good ones. I played soccer and did martial arts when I was younger, and I walked around like that most of the time just for kicks when I was bored. I still have really good definition in my legs these days, and now I'm back at the gym I find I don't have to work on my legs so much. Essentially, the more you use your legs, the stronger they will become, and if something can be accomplished using your legs. Use them! For instance, closing a car door, refrigerator door, also weaving through a crowd to get through faster, all kinds of situations.
Yoga has a lot of good leg stretches and such, if you want a more relaxed method look into that. Something more fast paced would be any kind of aerobics class or martial arts class (or a hybrid, aerobic kick boxing).
On top of what missne said you can do knee-up drills and rockets; I did these when I ran track in high school.
Knee-up drills are when you run in place, but you raise the knee as high as you can with each step. The knee should at least reach as high as your hips. Each step is considered "one. " Try doing 10 (10 steps) really fast, say in 10 seconds and see how your hamstrings feel. They get really sore really fast, which is good.
Rockets are when you jump up in the air as high as you can from a squatting position (or some variation thereof). Try to do 20 of those in a row really fast: say in 30 seconds.
Walking. ;) Also lunges, if your knees aren't injured, and to sit on an "invisible chair" (squats). You can sit against a wall in the beginning, if you prefer. And remember to stretch A LOT!
