Why do some people become Teaching Assistants and don't like kids?

I completely agree with you that would really irritate me as well. That reminds me if you have ever seen the movie Coach Carter when he is in the hearing with the Board and one of the teachers gets up and says something don't remember exactly what he says but he complains about the extra work he has to do filling out simple progress reports that really annoyed me why become a teacher if you don't want to help the kids? I know it's just a movie but stuff like that does happen and its sad.

Men and women can be exceptionally odd and sometimes the best way for them to have an influence on the world is to challenge the younger generation with oddness, weirdness, cruelty, arbitrariness, and the like. But they die in the end if they lack integrity, so it's of little importance.

If they can't stand kids, then, they are indeed in the wrong profession. No child deserves to be treated like dirt, especially from someone who is older that they might look up too. It's totaly unprofessional, and uncalled for. I can't stand to see anyone be flat out ugly to a kid. I've got an eleven year old nephew and he's like a son to me. I can't stand seeing him be mistreated as I think he was by his own teachers at one point. But with all of the rudeness, hey, well, what goes around, comes around.

she mighta had a cousin or som close family born 5-10 years ago, and thought 'awwe so cute, I love kids :3'. then reality bitch slapped her in he face with REAL children. I have a little sister and those things are straight EVIL LITTLE CREATURES.

as you can tell I don't work with kids, but then again, I'm not trying to be a teacher.

I think they do it because its easy. Where I live; I could become a teaching assistant! All I have is a high school diploma and some good references from past employers. Pretty much the same credentials you need to work at a fast food restaurant, only I am sure teaching assistants get paid more.

I had a few teachers who only got into teaching because they didn't know what else to do with their degrees. Or their expectations of what it would be like were wrong.

Hopefully, she doesn't show that side to the kids and that's why they keep giving her hugs, because you're right, she doesn't deserve them.

People aren't always going to do things for the reason you wish they would do them. They aren't going to care as much or try as hard as you'd like. I agree that it's unfortunate because there are kids involved, but it pays money and some people would do just about anything for that. Especially with things as they are now.

because its an easy, well paying job... kind of like policemen. Its a job for people who have no dreams and don't want to work hard, but still need money.
