I know it's early but to I've already started Christmas shopping for my friends and my boyfriend. I want to give my friends something cool and trendy and fun. For my boyfriend, a gift that is meaningful but not too sentimental. I usually get him one big gift and lots of little, funny gifts.
Anyways, I've got family to shop for too but they are easier. :)
So - guys and girls, I was wondering what's on your wish list this year? And have you heard of any hot trends in gifts that are likely to sell out if I don't buy early?
You're a jewel! And a smart one, too. We have a friend who is 'economically challenged'. She buys stuff at places like Dollar Store and we get a package at Christmas that has us rolling in the aisles! Truly an example of 'it's the thought that counts'.
Now for some practical thoughts:
There's a book, Gary Chapman's "The Five Love Languages" that has these ways that people communicate. Find out your primary communication style (we all have more that one), then determine hers and fulfill that need. Here's the five communication styles: 1. Quality time spent together; 2. Acts of service; 3. Physical (touch); 4. Words of affirmation (tell her you like what she is or does); 5. Gift giving.
I'm a last minute gifts girl so I envy your gumption! I haven't started my wish list or my gift list yet but I need to soon. I'm such a procrastinator. A few years ago, right before Christmas, I ordered something really cool for my brother but I waited too long and ended up paying twice as much for express shipping and it was still a close call. In fact, I was in the shower when I heard the mail man ring the door bell. I jumped out real quick, threw on clothes and literally had to run 2 or 3 blocks to chase him down on Christmas Eve. (or was it the day before? I can't remember if that's a national holiday...no mail...anyway, it was the last delivery day before Christmas).
Hot Christmas Gifts...this year I am thinking about getting my boyfriend a Kindle from Amazon. My dad got one recently and LOVES it. (I might get one for myself too!)
Or the new iPhone 3GS and maybe a gift certificate for a bunch of iphone apps or something. I don't really want to encourage him to be on that damn thing more than he already is but I know he'd love it so...maybe.
I'm not a guy obviously so I don't know for sure but I don't think our boyfriends like to get clothes as gifts. Cologne, sure, because you can't get the wrong one. But we could spend an hour at the mall picking out shirts and sweaters and they still won't like it! Plus, you can't play with clothes, y'know? Gotta get something fun he can use. OR get a watch or something he can wear every day (not once a week or whatever) so he thinks of you every day!
I know that gift cards are hot gifts every year but I wouldn't give one to your boyfriend. Those should go to co-workers and cousins, people you don't know as well. Again, you can't play with it right away and get all excited like a little kid.
Looking for a great gift for teens, the new fantasy novel, "Gateway to DreamWorld," was released last month and has been receiving rave reviews.
During the cold months ahead, they will curl up in a warm blanket or in front of the fireplace and enter a fantasy world filled with excitement and suspense.
The book is listed on Amazon.com, Barnes&Nobles.com, and Powell’s Books.com

My boyfriend asked me what I wanted for Valentines Day and it got me thinking. The answer he is looking for is, most likely, "Nothing, you have given me everything a girl could want." As you can...
