Heyy, I'm 17 & I have no life lol People always ask me what kind of thing I do for fun, but saying I watch TV, go on MSN/Facebook & listen to music isn't that exciting. What kind of hobbies are there that are cheap (aka, free-ish) & fun? I usually stay indoors so ones that get me outside the house would be a huge bonus. I know I'm a very boring person. I only write stories & very rarely, never finished one. What are some new hobbies I can do that are fun? I get bored quite a lot & it seems there is never ANYTHING to do?
Very few hobbies for adults of age 17 and up are cheap. However, a hobby can be as expensive or cheap as your income allows them to be. If you can find a cheap hobby, let me know.
My problem is that I have way too many hobbies and not enough time for all of them no thanks to being a trucker. However, here are a few of them:
For outdoor stuff, I like biking along bike trails. Another good one is canoeing slow rivers during the seasons: from April to September. You don't need your own canoe, if you can keep from tipping over, canoeing can be quite a stress-reliever. Pick a river away from metropolitan areas or big tourist attraction rivers. Sometimes, just walking around a town art fair or social event is good without having to buy anything. Never know what you will find.
Don't like outdoors? I like to paint miniature figures. I paint World War 2 models and recreate old war battles with them. I also paint fantasy and sci-fi figures just for fun. Always fun to see a plain metal figure brought to life with colors. If video gaming is your thing, try playing some of those complicated Japanese based games on the PS3 that encourages you to think while blowing things up as well. Avoid using strategy guides and solve the puzzles yourself.
You're sedentary. There's no harm in that. Becoming a jock would not only be unnatural for you, but you'd get bored with it because it's not "you".
Museums? Art galleries? $4.00 movies? Take a long bus ride to a nice part of town. If you were in Portland, OR, I'd recommend the Council Crest (line 51) route. On no account take the #12 or #4 routes. They go into the work-free drug place in Portland.
One thing you have to believe: you aren't boring. Just change that concept you have of yourself and you'll instantly be less boring. :-)
I like to run and collect coins. I meet interesting people and stay fit while running, and I also meet new people collecting coins, but I like doing it because I like history and some coins have historical meaning. Also, you can turn coin collecting into profit. Not sure if either are interesting to you though.
I love photography. Photography can be a indoor thing or it can bring you out. Exploring and taking down the wonderful nature or sity/town scenary is what I love to do.
