Guys, what do you think of a British accent?

These other guys are probably thinking about the British accent from the movies

like Harry Potter etc.

I think the British language is lovely if the person is well spoken.


i move to London about 6 years ago and found that most people do not talk like that at all.

When its spoken properly, the girls can sound like cute and sexy intellectuals.

In Britain the have a thing called 'Chavs' and 'rude girls' and they completely obliterate the english language with bastardisations such as, 'init'(isnt that so) 'ya get me'(do you understand) 'bruv'(bother). Its not just the words and phrases they say, cause everywhere has slang but its the way they say it that makes them sound so ignorant.


Some good comes out of it. In USA if you approach a girl, you can't always tell if she's an ignoramous just by the way she talks. She will have to say some stupid things before you get the hint. In the UK you can tell right away by the way she talks that this isn't the one you're going to bring home to meet the parents.

So I would say yes the accent has a sexy librarian, lovely intellectual or cute innocent girl sound to it. But stay away from the chave and rude girl accent, its not attractive in the slightest

Guys having british accent just sound completely cocky and annoying, I think.
Meanwhile I really like girls having a brit accent, it's something that makes it sound so twisted and at the same time very sweet when a girls speak that way.

Yes, British accent is sexy :D I know that isn't saying much because it ranges from area, but it is really nice. I also like Russian, and Hungarian. Maybe Australian. They just sound so nice I think.

I've always wanted to marry someone with a British accent. Not that I would marry simply for the accent, but it's a damn good bonus. This is the only accent that pretty much brings me to my knees. Weak knees that is.

I like it as long as its not like Dick Van Dyke's accent in Mary Poppins. I'm interested if people in places like the U.K, Australia, etc. find the American accent sexy.

Depends on which British accent. Honestly, I don't like the absent R's, swallowed glottal stop T's, and R's inserted in to words like saw (sounds like I sawr it). Some things are much nicer sounding than the American English versions though.

it could be sexy or exotic... at least to a random New Yorker. But obviously many other factors come into play too. I had a co-worker who was British and every time I heard her speak, I just kept thinking how much I wanted to hear her say a line from the movie Chicken Run.

I don't know how guys feel about girls, but I think guys with british accents are really hot. I guess it would depend on their preference.

it depends on which county in britain you're from lol. some of them are really annoying, some sound really posh, there's all the different scottish accents, and then they're the ones that sound like news casters.

It depends how strong it is, but most of the time I get a kick out of it.
