My mother is going to be having another heart surgery soon and I'm scared and she's scared and we're all scared together. She's the only parent I have, the backbone to this life of mine, and I love her dearly. She's older (63) and I just don't want anything to happen to her. Chances of survival are pretty 50/50 and I don't know what I would do if I lost my mother.
So could you guys send a prayer out for her? I don't know all the religions, but whatever you believe in, could you just send up a warm thought? One of hope and peace for a healthier life? I just want as much help and strength as we can get through this and the positive voices will help us through this. You don't have to literally write down your prayer, but if you could just take a moment to offer one up, I'd appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
Update: wow, I wasn't expecting such wonderful responses. you guys are all wonderful. those of you who aren't religious, thank you for being so respectful about it. I'll take your luck and good wishes. I'm seriously about to cry :( haha thank you so much.

As someone whos had open heart surgery and is now fine I wish you both the best and know it will work.
Since I had mine, the techology has improved so much, and success statistics are much higher.
Just remember though, whatever the outcome, it will be the right one for you Mum (and hopefully will mean she's with you longer in body as well as inspirit).
From my mouth, to God's ear, for you and your mom. (If you haven't already done so, ask Jesus to give you both peace in all of this. He's seen me though many hard things)
You've got my prayers for your mom, yourself and your family. Great idea bro, and your responses and support have been wonderful. I have been here a while, and It's a beautiful thing to see a community develop and come together like this on this website.
And for some reason after reading the guy responses last I had "bro" stuck in my head. I understand you're a girl :) Anyway, I hope God is with your mom, yourself and your family. - A month ago
I'm an agnostic so instead of a prayer I will send my best wishes and hopes to your mother with love to you and your family at this time of uncertainty. Stay strong, help each other out and be there for each other no matter what the outcome. Good luck to you all.
I'll pray for your mother and the surgery. I know God will be watching over her and guiding her through it. So I will pray for the best of both of you.
Take care and hug your mom for everyone of us who is praying for her.
Why on earth many people disagree with me ? (This is not the only answer) Is it that such people dislike me or something ? - A month ago

I mean, I really did pray for your mother for about a minute ! I never write false sentences. And then there are these people who disagree with that !!! This is just so defeating !! - A month ago
Absolutely, I will pray. I can only imagine what this time must be like for you. I am a Christian, and I believe that God has only the best will towards every human being on the planet.
As an encouragement, if I may, I'll direct you to just two passages from the Holy Bible:
sure ill say a little prayer to st jude for you. my mum always prays to him for a certain request and it always works for her =)
i know this is a stupid example but I got off a train a stop later (and about an hr away from where I was meant to be) and had no clue how to get back. I was freaking out but I handed the whole situation over to my higher power. then sure enough there was a free shuttle bus to the bus station where I got a bus ok (there weren't any trains for another hour whereas there was a bus in 30mins) and got talking to bus driver and he dropped me off almost at my doorstep. There were way too many coincidences in the whole scenario to simply be "luck" so there's definitely some higher power/god out there who can help us if we seek it. hope this is of some comfort to you =)
good luck! I'm sure one extra prayer won't do any harm lol!
I totally get what your saying. God is in all the little things as well as the big things. thanks for sharing that with me :) - A month ago

You and your mom are in my prayers too. I also pray for the doctors and surgeons - that they do the best job they've ever done. Best wishes, our hearts are with you!
I don't know what religion you are either, but either way, you sound pretty religious. I just wanted to let you know that God knows what you are going through, and He has your best interest in mind. He will always do what is best. My prayers are with you! God bless!
It warms my heart to see people lending a helping hand. I'll be more than happy to pray for you and your mother. Keep thinking positive. Your mom is going to look to you for strength. You can do it! :)
My all time favorite passage is Psalm 121. It talks about God watching over you day in and day out, taking care of your needs. Have faith, even in the troubling times. This is what makes us stronger. We're here for you...
That's so scary... you can ensure that I'm going to include you in my prayers. God hears them all, and answers them in one way or another. Best of luck to you and your mother. tell her that Jess is praying for her ;)
