last night I wrote a question, and when I went to post it, it told me I had to sign in (I HAD been signed in) so I signed in, and everything I wrote was gone. the same thing just happened to me, but I had answered a girls question... does this happen to anyone else?
Yes, it's very annoying. What you can do is highlight your response and do a Ctl-C (copy it). Then try to post it. If it disappears do a Ctl-V (paste it).
Last Friday, we have updated our servers. This update inadvertently has caused an issue, which we were trying to identify until just now. And until now, the server would kick everyone out very frequently due to this issue. We have just identified the cause of this and are quickly working to fix it.
I don't know when exactly we will have a fix for this at the moment, but will most likely be some time tomorrow. In the mean time as a short term fix, users will be able to stay logged in upto 3 hours. I would recommend that you copy everything you write to a notepad or a word document, before you submit anything, in case you get kicked out due to this issue so that you do not lose what you have typed.
I will keep you posted when the issue is finally fixed and if you see other issues, or have any questions, please feel free to send us an email thru link
Yep, yep. I couldn't even answer a question, much less view my own that I posted yesterday, after I had gotten a few hits, or either my modem will drop the connection whenever it wants too. Ugh.
Well, I was going to answer this minutes after you posted it.. but the site kicked me off and I ended up closing the tab. xD So YES, it happens to me, and quite a bit. I'm in the habit of using ctrl+c on everything just before I post, to be sure that I don't lose it if I'm logged out. Considering the number of replies, this reply is pointless.. but.. I saw the question again and decided to give it another go.
LOL YES> this has happened to me lol. I was writing a really long answer and then when I clicked submit or whatver it SPAT in my face and kicked me in the balls.
It is designed to sigh you out if you are inactive for a certain amount of time. If you are writing, you are not navigating around the site and if it takes you over the set period of time, say for example ten minutes, then if you take ten minutes to write a piece it will log you out. This is for security reasons such as if you are on a public computer and forget to log out.
Your best bet is to copy what you've written before sending it just in case it does it and then you can paste it again if it does.
Also if you are on a private computer then when you log in, click the "remember me" box and sign in. It should stop signing out every ten minutes but shouldn't be used on public computers or people can access your details and account...
yea all the time such as ill be on the chatting with some one and then if I open one of the tabs uptop it'll say please log in when I'm STILL talking to people through meebo!
I have remember me checked so it doesn't log me out, however sometimes when I write a long answer and click preview it sends me back to the home so I lose it. I copy my answers now lol.
yeah I've been having this problem , though it might of just been me but I guess others are as well . I'm on dialup so just though that might be the problem
yea it does that sometimes but lately it doesn't lose my info. when I get away from the page.. but just in case, if I'm on one page for a long time, I copy (ctrl+c) my stuff before submitting so if I do lose it, I can just paste (ctrl+v) it.
When you log in, check the remember me. This will set a longer cookie, but yes it does happen to me because the security I use won't let me check it haha. But yes, I think that will help.
...It happened to me yesterday for the first time and p*ssed me off a lot because I ve written an answer to a girl that it was way to big and I was p*ssed sooo much that I didn't rewrite it again...I wish it won't happen again...
Yep it does happen to me everyday but I figured what to do.. Just sign in when it tells you to do that and go back till you reach the page you were working on and Submit whatever you wrote earlier!
I got signed out after typing my answer lol. I know you automatically get signed out if you're inactive, but I feel like it happens more often now than it used to (it only took me a couple minutes to type my answer, if even that long). It's so random.
Usually, whatever I've written will show up when I sign back in (unless it's a comment), but I copy and paste everything anyway. I used to click "remember me" but I still got signed out when I was inactive, and what I wrote wouldn't come back up.
Have had this happen to me also. Asked a friend about this who owns a company that works for yahoo, and he said much of this comes from the newer adds they are using on this site with all the animated junk. It sure is annoying however
The site just signed me out while answering your question lol. It does happen to me quite a bit though, and it seems to be happening more frequently lately. It's very annoying =/ Oh, and I just tried to send this answer again, and it signed me out again...
That happens to me once in a while but usually it saves my answer... but what I do, just in case is this... when it says log in again, I press back and copy my answer. Then go log in and paste my answer if it's not there... hope it works for you. :)
Yes, I've had that happen to me a few times, also. I've also noticed if you take a while to answer a question and try to submit it, it will sometimes not go through. I hate when that happens, especially if the answer I give is a bit lengthy.
sounds like a browser problem. i'm not having any issues with that. but I'm having problems with replying to messages and commenting on responses. sometimes it just doesn't let me at all. usually if I refresh a few times, it'll let me. but I've tried 2 browsers, Safari and Fire Fox and both behave the same.
