I just bought a macbook that has wifi with it. I was wondering what box I should get to use on my home computer so that I can use wifi in my house. I have dsl on my home computer so I'm wondering if I need a special box or wire. I tried to enable ICS but my home computer wouldn't let me. ps, the mac should be here in 7 days, I bought it online.
A wireless N range, since most macbooks are now coming out with those as near standard. Why should you get it over G? Because it has better range and better connection. Might be more expensive, but it's worth it.
PS: when you say wifi "box" you mean router. And don't worry about anyone installing it, you can do it yourself. Or just ask me. It's really easy, don't let some service like geek squad rip you off.

If you want something easy to set up or you want to use MobileMe, get Apple's airport wifi router. It's pricey, but it's the best out there. If you can handle a little tech work, the Linksys WRT54G is great too and costs less.
you need to call up verizon or whatever service provider you've got in your area and have them come to your house and set up wireless in your house. they'll know what to do about your older computer.
I wouldn't do that. They'll charge you an arm and a leg. Get a friend to help or buy an Apple airport which are easy to setup and cheaper than paying someone. - 14 days ago

The new macs have the internal airport, you still need wireless service in the house. verizon, optimum online, comcast, set up for free, but you gotta pay your bills. you need to have a wireless modem, you can just pull the internet out of thin air for free. unless you know something I don't. because I pay for verizon fios and I've got a macbook pro. - 14 days ago
