I'm thinking of taking a trip to this city and hotels are outrageously priced but there are some cheap hostel options available that are close to the places I want to visit anyways > so what are they like and is this a good option to consider ?
hostels aren't bad. but I suggest booking one that's a franchise because they have higher standards of cleanliness and lower prices. check out www.hihostels.com i've stayed in hostels all over europe and in california, the best hostels were hihostels. better food, better showers, better everything.
Hotels except there are multiple people in a room. anywhere from 4 to 20 people. and the showers and bathrooms are communal. - 4 months ago

I stay in hostels all the time. I don't even need to for financial reasons; I like the atmosphere and I feel like it is dumb to waste so much money when you don't need to. Also, a lot of the time hostels are located close to the city center where the interesting stuff is.
Some hostels are better than others. There are all kinds of websites where you can find evaluations. Look for cleanliness, quietness, and lockers so that you can secure your stuff.
Yeah the ones I'm looking at are rate near the bar area so they look pretty fuu , I''ve just never stayed in one before or sure what to expect , they look kind of like my house at college a very fun place but you just have to get along with other people . - 4 months ago
