"Revenge" brings you to his level, which is not somewhere you want to be. Think about it, by lowering to his level, you're pretty much disrespecting yourself.

I would go out to dinner and a movie; simple but you get to know the person. I would wear something simple yet a little dressy. and it would end with a good night kiss on my front porch.
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
He would know that I'm a dork but I'm fun to be around.
