Today I was in class and a guy I know said poetry wasn't nothing I was really angry of what he said. Well to me I think poetry is way to connect with other people an understand their feelings. Tell Me What Do You Think?
Hell yeah. Poetry is a way to express your self in a beautiful way. And its a talent to do something like that. Its a art of communication. People that don't like it is because they don't understand it and don't know how to do it well. Its like computers, people don't like them because they don't know how to use them and don't get them. Good?
The problem of poetry, as well as its beauty, is its inherent intellectual flexibility. By that, I mean that it can mean anything to anyone. It's much like physical art that way. It's nice because you can conform it to what is most poignant to yourself, but it's odd because although that may provide the most enjoyment to yourself, it may also concurrently be a bastardization of the original intent of the author. Quite a dilemma.
As an honest answer, I personally don't like much poetry because I always feel that I'm perverting the meaning of it by my interpretation.
Exploration of different ways to connect the things and information in life. It opens our minds up to think for ourselves and "live a little" instead of drudging about like robots.
I have a love of words, so I can appreciate a good poem. It's an art form though, so not every poem I will enjoy reading.
What an idiot he is. I think poetry is a beautiful thing. It is a way of expressing how someone feels or what they think about something. Although it can be hard to read once it is broken down it tells a story that many people can connect to. It just like song lyrics, it has meaning to it.
