Exactly what the question says. What made the job so horrible? Was their anything that was remotely good about the job? What makes a job fun/good?

I worked at a store selling aquarium fish for $6/hr. It was a bad job because I am not an expert on aquarium fish and we'd get a lot of middle aged white guys who would come in and be very sarcastic about any question that you didn't know the answer to. Add in the difficulty in catching these fish, cleaning the tanks, and monitoring phones and customers and it ended up not being much fun.

Plenty of good things though. Had one assistant manager that I worked with that was a cool guy, plus a couple of co-workers that were nice. I enjoyed the moms who sneaked in mid-day to get a new goldfish that looked like the kid's fish that died earlier. I liked the feel of the day's work too - felt good at the end of the day, even though it was hard work (I think the less pay and lower on the job hierarchy you go, the harder the work).

Gross fact: my clothes smelled so bad from the fish store that I thought they were what was stinking up my room at home. Turned out I had a dead mouse in there for weeks - nasty.

Question Asker Your job doesn't sound too bad. The worst the job I ever had involved calling random strangers living in small towns to recruit them for a study on cancer. That was the first and last job I ever had with the university. It paid really well, but it was a god awful job. You read from a script (which you can memorize 10 callers-in), you deal with old women/men who wanted to chat about their lives, you had to deal with people who lied to you. Etc. Best job was my stint at Starbucks! - 3 months ago
Answerer It's true - you got me. The job wasn't that bad and Mike Rowe isn't interested in hearing about it. I didn't even mention that we had multiple doors leading to the tubs that fed the tanks and that I'd duck into one door when I saw an obnoxious looking customer, walk to the other end of the building, and pop out to help the nicer (or better looking) other customers. It's true.
One day I spent 45 minutes walking around w/ my college RA who had wandered in. What can I say? I'm picky and lucky. - 3 months ago

The people you work with are the most important factor in my opinion. I could work with my best friends in a crappy job forever, but I couldn't work with a bunch of jerks at the best of jobs.

Does it ever annoy you that you're single?
random-ren asked 12 days ago

Yes, most of the time! I really wish I had a boyfriend/girlfriend!

A little, because I feel left out.

Not really...

Nope! I have too much fun being single!

What's there to be annoyed about?

Jonathan (Age:25 to 29)

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
For me the first date is about getting to know the other person. I prefer a quiet venue, a place like a coffee shop or a dignified restaurant.

I dress well on first dates, wearing a nice shirt and jacket, sometimes with matching slacks, other times with jeans.

The date ends with a hug or a kiss (or both); I want to connect emotionally before going further.

Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
She will know that I'm funny, smart, and interesting. She will know a little about my career, my family, and my life, without too much information (to be boring or overly personal) being given on any subject.

She will also know that I'm a good listener, someone who has an interest in what she has to say (provided that it isn't boring or creepy!)

Would you date me?
