I'm getting my belly button pierced...are there some things I should avoid doing?

I have mine done, and it didn't hurt that much at all, just a pinch right when the needle went in. It won't get infected as long as you use the solution they give you--I got h2ocean which I put on with a qtip every night and morning and like slid the piercing up and down after I applied it. That helped keep infections away. Make sure you dry it first when you get out of the shower and keep it dry in general. If you go swimming, use the spray they give you. It seems like a lot of work when you first get it but it's really not, and it's worth it!

Alright I have my bellybutton pierced. & I guess you can be kind of scared, I was & I had to bring my best friend lol. It hurt for me because I thought that it would hurt the entire time. but I know other people that have gotten it done and it didn't hurt at all because she didn't think about it the whole time and made sure someone was there to take the thought of it hurting off of her mind. my friend is a joker and likes to be sarcastic saying things like " omg its going to bleed " and stuff like that. but when you actually get it done, you have to make sure it stays very clean and use a Dove brand soap. It should be out in the open air so its not only under your shirt. also when you go swimming, be sure to wash it with the soap before you go in, because both germs already in your bellybutton and the chemicals from the pool are not a good combo. but that's why I got mine done a few years ago in february, so it would be ready for summer(:
