Seriously, this is annoying me, I'm using Safari for this site only because every time I write a long answer it seems to just die for me. While this most likely is not the developers' faults (I as a web dev can see no reason web stuff would trigger DEP), it would be interesting to know if anyone else had this issue?

Turn off DEP for your browsers. I had to turn off DEP for someone at my office, they were getting Excel errors. I tried looking for a patch or fix for the error (other than reimaging the computer), and in the end decided just to turn off DEP.

For websites and browsers, you should be ok turning off DEP as long as you browse responsibly and have an anti virus program.

Below is from the Windows help file on DEP.
===============================
To open System Properties, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.

1) Click the Advanced tab and, under Performance, click Settings.
2) Click the Data Execution Prevention tab.
3) In the Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select list, do one of the following: To turn off DEP for a program, select the check box next to the program name and click OK. (If the name of the program doesn't appear in the list, click Add, navigate to your Program Files folder, select the program's executable file which will have an. Exe file extension, and click OK).
– or –

To turn on DEP for a program, clear the check box next to the program name, and then click OK.

Question Asker Thanks, I've tried that though - if you try to add firefox. Exe to the list, it tells you that you cannot turn it off for that program, which was exceptionally annoying. - 6 months ago
Answerer Does the provider of Firefox have a tech-forum or anything? - 6 months ago
