hey you guys! I used to have a figure to die for I didn't work out I was just naturally blessed. I had a flat stomach,nice size boobs,big butt,and nice legs!but I went into depression with something that happened me in my life,and I started to comfort eat and not go out as often! now I carry all my weight on my stomach and have the biggest love handles my butt some how has disappeared . my arms and face are fat I don't know what to do I'm so ashamed I let my beautiful body get ruined it will never be the way it was how can I even try to get it to the way it used to be? I weigh 140lbs and I'm 5ft 2 I think ,can you guys please help as I'm getting so depressed :-(
Well, your body is always going to naturally store fat in certain places. With the proper diet and exercise regimen you'll be back to what you used to weigh in no time, you might even look better.
Continual exercise increases your overall metabolic rate and so the more you exercise, the quicker you'll burn those calories when you're active. After a while, your body will be a fat burning furnace.
To accelerate the process eat naturally, drop the foods and beverages with empty calories like pop and fast food. Then go to the gym and start strength training, you'll want to apply as much weight as you can stand for 10 to 15 reps to actually build muscle. Don't worry, the amount of muscle you'll build won't be noticeable and won't make you look muscular like a man, it will give that 'toned' appearance, that strong tummy that's got a little shape. The kind you see those women rocking on the covers of fitness magazines.
The thing is that, the larger your muscles are the more calories you need to burn to move them. So putting on more muscle mass helps you burn calories faster. Also, weight training is an anaerobic activity so it increases your metabolic rate while you complete the exercise and this increase lasts long after you're done your workout. In fact, one pound of muscle on a female body requires 75 to 100 calories just to survive, so that's at least 75 free calories a day you'll be burning doing absolutely nothing, it all adds up. There's even better news, to build and maintain this one pound only takes one hour a week.
Do a good search for a women's strength training training regimen. It will provide you with a lot of exercises that combine to produce a well rounded work out and usually deal with smaller weights or resistance bands.
It's important to remember though, you want to be applying enough resistance that you are only able to complete 10 to 15 continuous reps before needing a rest. So get in the gym, and for motivation, you're actually in a better position than most women because you KNOW you can achieve a certain size whereas most women don't think they can achieve their goals and quit. In your case, you can do it, you were like that before, it's just a matter of putting in the effort. Plus, you'll generally feel better and after a while you'll actively want to go the gym.

Why can't you go to the gym? You CAN do it at home, but you should buy a set of weights or resistance bands. Then, find a program online designed for women. These are usually full body routines as opposed to strength training for men that focus around heavy lifts. - 5 months ago
Remember how hot you were, and how many guys wanted to be with you. Remember how jealous other girls were of your perfect body. That should be your thought fuel in working out and eating healthy

First thing you have to do is understand why you be came depressed in the first place. before you can do anything you have to come to terms with what is hurting you.
once you know whay it is you were depressed and work through it. your dependancy on food will go. in time.
then you can start to look at wieght loss. eating plane excersise. weight training.
but first you must heal your mind before your body

I used to have a perfect body, no matter what I ate I just didn't gain weight til I got pregnant. your 140 and 5 2 that isn't bad, I'm 5 3 and 177 ya I said it and I don't even look it so I doubt you like like you are saying. Women always think they are bigger then what they are, but one main thing is you got to stop comforting yourself with food. If you get the feeling were you want to stuff your face do it with something health or water cause chances are you are not hungry its just your body thinking you are or whatever they call it. And exercise you don't have to over do it but about 20 mins or so running, jogging whatever.
Hey I had the same problem. I used to have a naturally hot body, then I had some bad things happen and got fat, I lost some of my weight and am looking better now, but still not back to my supersexy glory days.
I think we have the same body type or something because I have the same problem areas, it sucks huh? Well girls with our figure (gaining weight in stomach, waist & face) definitely should watch our carbs. Don't go crazy about no-carbs, but if you cut out a lot of unnecessary bread and white flour along with a healthy diet and workout, you will see a big improvement.
Why do you say you can never get your body back? It is still there. Think of your current body as a stone, and you have to chisel away at it like Michelangelo to get to your masterpiece.

I know that most people in the world aren't happy with their weight and they always say that they are going to go on a diet, but they never do because they set it at a later date. Just do it, whenever you go to the grocery store now try to stick to the outside of the store(most of the processed fatty foods are in the middle) ALSO stay out of the bakery lol I would always wander that way...anyone can lose weight, they just have to commit its not a quick fix its a lifestyle change. - 4 months ago
Make sure you eat healthy and exercise. You already know that you turn to food when you're depressed, so that's something you have to watch for. Instead of going for comfort food, you should try to work through your emotions some other way. I know a lot of people who go for a run when they're feeling down, I always write or listen to music.

Maybe you need to find some activity that you can't reflect on like that. Like I said, I know people who exercise when something's wrong. If you did that, it would have the opposite effects that food have, so you would be losing weight in the long run.
