ok my sd card belonging to my digital camera well I was using it today to transfer pictures onto the laptop anyway that was grand but I forgot to take the sd card out and turned the laptop off now all my files on the sd card are gone and when I go to take new pictures it says no memory left even though there is no pictures and keeps saying files have been removed how can I find were they have gone to as all my holiday photos the lot are on it?
Um, try right clicking on the card in My Computer. Click properties. Look at the used and free space. If there is still a lot of used space on the card then your pics are still there. Just hidden. Try that and let me know what happens.
That sucks. It's rare that stuff like that happens too.
What you probably need to do is format you SD card. Take it out of your computer, turn the system on, and the put it in. You should see the drive pop up for it, or even a menu that will ask you to repair it (depending on which version of Windows that you use).
Go to "My Computer" and find the drive ("E", "F", etc) right click. That should give you an options for properties, and somewhere in there you should see an option to format the drive.
You may also be able to format it through your camera in the menu/settings area.
That should clear up the problem. If you still have the pictures on you computer, then you could transfer them back to the card.
I tried it all !! and my pictures won't transfer back on because its saying no room left on th card when there clearly is now that everything is gone - 4 months ago

Some SD cards have a button on them that won't allow storage/formatting. Make sure that hasn't been pushed/clicked. If that doesn't work, take it to a camera shop, there is probably something they can do. - 4 months ago
Question Asker
Ill try that!! god I couldn't be more unlucky - 4 months ago
ummm the only thing I could think of trying is checking on the computer. go throught documents that it would make sense for them to be in and look through hidden files within them. and if you absolutely cannot get them back in any way then to make it so you have memory again you have to reformat your card, which is done by:
1. putting the card in the computer 2. opening My Computer 3. right clicking on the drive where the card is in 4. and then find reformat on that little drop list.
srry I don't know much about cameras but that's just a general idea that I would have and a good thing to try. lemme know what happens =) also that little pointless guide, is for PCs. I don't know much about macs lol
And now I finally answered one of yours instead =P
