Have you experienced being really hot, and sweaty, heart races like crazy, and you feel like your surroundings spin. You have to find somewhere cool and fresh before you barf.
I used to be tortured by panic attacks very much like that when I was younger and even now sometimes (something about being in a classroom where I couldn't come and go as I pleased, without everyone watching me), and until I got a prescription for an anti-anxiety thingy (which I highly recommend) I would count to help ride the attacks out. I would count anything, or do the counting scales ( like 1. 121. 12321. 1234321 if you know what I'm talking about) then I'd try doing the alphabet backwards, or doing the scales with the alphabet.
I don't know why it worked, or if it only works for me and not others. But sincerely hope it helps you. I know what those felt like, and would never EVER wish it on anyone.
I have panic attacks whenever I have to talk in front of a bunch of people. To calm down, I listen to music. I like counting too, for some reason. I focus on the numbers rather than what's stressing me out.
I get panic attacks occasionally. They used to be worse when I was at school. They would happen when I was in a situation that was out of my control or uncomfortable for me, and it would feel as if the room I was in would be spinning, and it felt like I was going to pass out. They got so extreme that I had to see a psychiatrist, and I had to go on anxiety pills. I had to go through 4 different kinds until I found the right pill for me. I still get the attacks, but they are not anything near the extreme ones I used to have. I hope you can find something that works for you.
I have gotten them really bad since I was in high school. One of my classmates used to think it was funny to push me until I was REALLY upset. He onset my first one. After that I started getting them really bad, semi-regularly. Usually walking out of the room to fresh air or a brown paper bag and deep slow breathing helps, but there have been times that I couldn't even move and people have had to pick me up and carry me outside so that I could let up, once I had to have an oxygen tank.
I get them really bad, I once got so bad I had really bad shakes my hole body was spazing it felt like something really heavy on my chest, my heart was going nuts, I thought I was going to die. I have been to the er many of times for this, and even they didn't know what was wrong with me. There not as bad as they were, they they come on try not to thing about do something to get your mind off them. watch tv, get on the computer, have your b.f clam you down ect.
i get panic attacks all the time I got a really bad one one time were I couldn't even talk literally couldn't talk I tried to but nothing would come out! I hate them and don't know anyway to get rid of them hun if I did id do it but why don't you ask your doctor my friend says you can get anxiety tablets or something to stop it
