When I was a wee one I had super blonde hair and as I've gotten older it's darkened significantly. As of now I would say it's a dark dishwater blonde color. A bit dull and I want to dazzle. :P
I just got my hair cut and all my natural highlights went with it- what can I do to "naturally" lighten my hair at home?
It has been my experience that the sun is the best, natural, source for lightening hair. The more you expose your hair to the sun, the lighter your hair will get, without the harsh effects of chemicals, or acids. Notice, this is not what normally happens when tanning, since then the goal is to expose your skin to the sun.
Well all I have to say is blondes rule! I am strawberry blonde. I don't know what you could do, my niece Jenna would know though! She went to beauty school.
you can use lemon juice with a Q-Tip. squeeze the lemon juice into a glass/plastic dish (very important not to use a metal bowl). then dip the q-tip into the juice and apply it vertically in your hair (where you want the highlights).
then go out into the sun for at least 20 minutes (with sunscreen of course - to protect our beautiful skin) and you'll be surprised how quickly and naturally the highlights appear.
Lemon juice actually works wonders! I didn't believe it at first but after my mum and best friend said it really worked, I gave it a shot on a really warm sunny day.
I couldn't believe how beautiful my hair looked afterwards; you couldn't get that natural lightening with any dye.
I would just like to add that this method of natural bleaching can seriously damage your hair. There are no real methods of natural lightening that truly work that I know of. - 3 months ago
Question Asker
How did you do the lemon juice? spray it on? comb it in? soak?
So, anything I do will fry my hair? :( - 3 months ago
Get this product called "Sun-In" .it can be used indoors or outdoors and its AMAZING. Okay so you spray it into your hair and blow dry it. Or you can chill at the beach with some of that in your hair. It works very well when sun dried with chlorine or saltwater! Your hair will be instantly blonder. All it is is lemon juice and peroxide.
Of course, you could always just use lemon juice, but then you HAVE to be outside.
