Basically this college student has received anonymous death threats from Catholics all around the country, some senior Catholic officials have condemned his actions to that of HATE CRIMES and, really, this ones real, a priest said it was the same as holding someone hostage.
OK first of all its a cracker made of butter and whatever else. Its NOT Jesus! This whole story is crazy and stupid because it is just a cracker and to make death threats over it is stupid. Why the person did this? I have no idea, but its done and over with and to kill someone over this would be unholy. I'm not a religious person myself but I used to be and I no that if "Jesus" were still here that he would be looking at all the people sending death threats in disbelief because people are freaking out about a cracker instead of practicing forgiveness.
My point is that I think this story is ridiculous and the people sending the death threats need to get some medical help because walking off with a cracker is not holding anyone hostage because it was made out of butter and water and whatever else in a FACTORY!
That story makes me so embarrassed to be Catholic. . .I was raised Catholic, anyway, don't know what to call myself now.
Anyone who would go to such extremes as to threaten someone's life for something like that isn't a Christian at all. And fighting him to get the eucharist back? You're in church! That's not a hate crime against Catholics. Burning a cross could be a hate crime. Vandalizing a church could be a hate crime. But walking away with the eucharist? Not a hate crime. In fact, it's not a crime at all.
Wow, I actually read through the whole article. My personal favorite part was when the college decided to have armed guards outside the doors during mass in case he returned. If he decided to come back to the church would they shoot him? It amazes me that the priest didn't just forgive him and move on. It's pure craziness.
Unfortunately the world is full of religious nutters. Think of the millions of people that have been killed in religious wars over the centuries. From The Crusades right up to the present day situations in Palestine and Afghanistan, they're all pointless religious wars and a waste of human life.
haha that's great if I ever have to go to a catholic church again I will drop the god damn cracker and crush it with my shoe omg the priest will probably cry lmao
