I recently starting talking to this guy. He seemed to be really into me (texting me all day every day) and we hung out a couple times. He has been out of his 2 year relationship for about 2 months and I have been out of my past relationship for about 9 months. Anyway, my ex stopped by my house to pick up some of his things unexpectedly. I was alone and he and I had conversation. My ex then picked up my phone and went thru it. He called the guy that I was talking to only to find out that he knew of him. He was starting drama with him. Later, I get a call from the guy I was talking to and he stated that he felt uncomfortable because he knew of my ex and didn't want the drama. I totally understood that until I asked the question, "do you want me to leave you alone?" His reply."no, you don't have to leave me alone, we can be friends." So I am a little confused as to what he wants. I mean that's all we really were to begin with but when my ex started the drama the other guy is now weird. I didn't hear from him for a couple days, so I threw him a text just to see how he was. He replied back with the usual answer "I have been busy with work". My reply was "ok was just thinking about you and wanted to say hi". He replies"AWWWW.", I jokingly said "isnt that cute?" His reply was "you are cute." then immediately following that was another text stating "got to get back to work, ttyl." I haven't heard back from him and I don't want it to seem like I am bugging him or sweating him either. I do like him and would like to keep talking and dating him. I feel like I am in the shaded area. So, I guess my question is what does he want? He flirts, he compliments,etc. I am confused.
